Gill Gale was run down by a suspected drug driver on her way back from a country dancing class
Tributes have been paid to a "much loved" great-grandmother and "friend to many" who died following a crash with a suspected drug driver.
Three days after the tragedy, her family today paid tribute to the nature lover and active volunteer who was a well liked community figure. Gill was a leader at the Ramblers Association and worked as a guide at Sizergh Castle, having previous managed a GP practice and led Brownie and Guides.In a statement, her family said: “Gill Gale was a much-loved mum, grandma and great grandma, and friend to many. Gill engaged in and enjoyed the outdoors, including nature and active voluntary roles.
“Gill was returning from her country dancing class when the fatal collision happened. The news of Gill's tragic death has been devasting news and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.”
