The Tri-State was hit with massive storms and floods that left many people with damages to their homes, cars, and neighborhoods.
Intense flooding near Delta Avenue and Widman Place in Columbia Tusculum. Multiple cars can be seen underwater.
"Everything that was in the basement like appliances, other personal belongings, water heater, furnace, you name it, it's all gone," Nista said. Nista said that a drain is to blame. He said it isn't big enough to deal with the amount of water they get when it rains, and when it gets filled with debris during storms, it's even worse."Before you knew it, we had three cars floating around. It came all the way up to my steps in the backyard," Ionna said. "I had just gotten home from work like 30 minutes before it happened.""I definitely wasn't expecting that.
The damage knocked out power to around 700 people. Duke Energy said it's working now to rewire power to those impacted. The water came up to just under tree branches. Residents on this street said that they had to do a double take when they saw a silver sedan being carried away by the water surge. The street is notorious for flooding. Larona Avenue residents know that when it rains, it pours.
"If you can't fix the street, at least have things that homeowners can get from the city or from the county where we can get funds to put a driveway in because the street floods," Adams said.
