It's been a frosty start to the weekend, but it looks set to warm up later today

It's been a chilly start to the weekend, with many parts of Greater Manchester waking up to one of the first frosts of the winter on Saturday morning. But it looks like it's going to be a bright and sunny Saturday, with temperatures warming up as we head into this afternoon.

The Met Office said that due to the cold, the UK could see 'fairly widespread frost' this weekend.

"This creates relatively settled conditions, especially inland, with weakening winds and clearing skies allowing a greater extent of frosts and fog to become established albeit temporarily for Saturday morning. Nearer the coasts, showers - some heavy - are likely to be more of a feature.”
