The service replacement continues between North Station and Union Square and Medford/Tufts, following a crash investigation initiated by federal authorities. The incident occurred at East Somerville station early Sunday morning.
A passenger reported a neck injury and was transported to the hospital, alongside all four Green Line operators involved. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently on-site in Somerville, investigating the Green Line trolley collision. According to the MBTA, a Green Line train collided with an out-of-service train, resulting in the derailment of two cars. This incident prompted a response from the NTSB, which announced on Sunday that a team would be dispatched to investigate the collision. A passenger and four trolley operators were hospitalized after a Green Line train crashed into a stationary train at East Somerville Station early Sunday. Somerville resident Robert Avery described the scene, stating, 'That train is like completely destroyed.'
