The Greens have amended their demands after a continued standstill with Labor in Senate over its contested $10 billion housing policy.
The legislation, wherein the government projects to build 30,000 social and affordable housing in the next five years, has been held up in Senate for months due to the Greens refusing to vote.

"The Greens have now moved a long way, so the question for Labor is, are they really saying they’d rather do nothing to tackle the housing crisis than agree to $3.5 billion of investment in public and affordable housing and a national freeze on rent increases?" He said, despite the revised demands, the Greens would not “back down” in ensuring “real investment”.
