Heading toward the runoff, Abbott focused on 10 candidates, giving the most money, $340,581, to Trey Wharton, who is facing Ben Bius in the GOP primary for a District 12 seat being vacated by state Rep. Kyle Kacal, R-College Station. In District 33, which includes Rockwall County and part of Collin County, Abbott endorsed Pierson after she advanced to a runoff with Holland. Abbott will join Pierson on Friday for a get-out-the vote rally in Rockwall.
