It's been revealed that Gregg Wallace wrote in his 2012 memoir about being 'encouraged' to make 'jokes' on Saturday Kitchen as he faces allegations of 'innapropriate comments'
Gregg Wallace , the MasterChef presenter who's currently under scrutiny, has previously bragged about making racially insensitive and sexual jokes during his time at the BBC.
After downplaying the complaints against him over the weekend, he issued a formal apology. He had previously claimed that the complaints about his behaviour came from "a handful of middle-class women of a certain age". "I wasn't in a good headspace when I posted it, I've been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion, I felt very alone, under siege yesterday when I posted it. It's obvious to me I need to take some time out, now while this investigation is under way. I hope you understand and I do hope you will accept this apology.", reports the Mirror.
Gregg's legal team insists that "it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature". Last Thursday, the news broke that Wallace would be stepping back from the popular BBC cooking show during an external review of historical misconduct complaints by Banijay UK.
