Gregg Wallace has been accused of making inappropriate sexual remarks and jokes by more than a dozen people over a 17-year period - and now his ghostwriter has spoken out
MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace has been embroiled in controversy as his ghostwriter, Shannon Kyle, levels serious accusations against him. The 60-year-old TV personality faces a slew of allegations about his behaviour, including making inappropriate sexual comments and groping. Despite the growing number of accusers, Gregg firmly rejected these claims through a statement from his legal team: "It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature".
Shannon has claimed that during her time working on his memoir from May to August 2012, the celebrity shared explicit details of his sex life. She alleged that he made unwanted advances, touching her thigh and her bum at different times, including once at the Good Food Show. Determined to expose what she describes as "predatory" behaviour, she spoke out against him, despite his lawyers' strong denials of any sexually harassing conduct.
Later, while waiting on his couch, she alleges that he came back still only wrapped in a towel and then "'dropped the towel" near her, which she believes was intentional, after mentioning his trousers were behind the cushion she was sitting on. Frozen in shock, she claimed, "I paused" and either managed to extricate herself or he released her. She hastily left the scene, overwhelmed and in "tears". But it wasn’t confined to interviews; during car rides, he allegedly couldn’t resist touching her thigh and near her knee, as he shifted gears in his sports car.
In his statement, he said: "I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people. I wasn't in a good headspace when I posted it, I've been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion, I felt very alone, under siege yesterday when I posted it. It's clear to me now that I need to take some time out, especially while this investigation is going on.
