Customers could not get their morning coffee and breakfasts after they were hit by a technical problem
Greggs has issued an update after stores were forced to close across the UK on Wednesday. An IT outage meant some shops could only accept cash payments.
Now the firm has issued an update to say things were back to normal. Apologising to customers they said: “We have now resolved the technical issue that affected tills in some of our shops earlier this morning. Greggs operates more than 2,450 shops across the UK, though it is unclear how many were affected by the technical problems. Stores closed included those in Newcastle where one would-be customer said: "I can't believe it - I have one every morning but not today. They do seem to be operating delivery though so I'm going to try that."
