Police said the incident could have caused 'catastrophic damage'
Two grenades were found in a house after it was set on fire in what is believed to have been a targeted attack.
Merseyside Police has now confirmed one grenade was found inside the house and a second grenade was found outside. Local policing Superintendent Sarbjit Kaur told the ECHO both devices were removed by the bomb disposal team and taken to a secluded field on Lower Lane, where they were safely detonated.
"I think we're very lucky that they've not detonated. It's so reckless of those that are responsible for it.
