A 'global settlement' involving about 900 cases has been reached, a barrister indicates.
The settlement is separate from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, which started in September 2017
At the High Court, barrister Richard Hermer KC said a compensation sum of about £150m had been awarded across 900 cases in the "global settlement".Meanwhile, it has now been confirmed the Grenfell Inquiry report is unlikely to be published until 2024. The long-running inquiry, chaired by Sir Martin Moore-Bick, is examining the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the blaze.At the settlement hearing at the High Court, listings indicate the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea was one of a number of defendants.previously confirmed it was another
