A group of people have just finished running around Sefton Park for 24 hours in order to help raise funds for Zoe's Place. Zoe's Place, on Yew Tree Road in West Derby , provides vital support for babies and children up to the age of five. However, children and families received the devastating news on Monday, October 7 that the centre would close before the end of the year and staff would lose their jobs within 30 days.
We decided on running around Sefton Park for 24 hours. 'I got ran over a couple of days after organising it so unfortunately I couldn't do the run but the runners have been going since 6pm last night, continuing until 6pm tonight. We’ve had loads of support and raised over £3000. A deli, Red Rum Deli, which has sponsored us, has been bringing us food while we do it.' One runner, 13-year-old Andrew Banks, has run over 80km.
