Noel is the fourth Cleveland player to homer in his first at-bat, and the first since Kevin Kouzmanoff did it in 2006.

The bat sailed out to third base and a bat boy had to retrieve it.Noel in 65 games at Columbus this year hit .295 with 18 homers and 59 RBI.Bell’s homer also came off the first pitch he saw from Blyleven in the third inning at the Metrodome. Belle had some inside information passed along to him from Mike Hargrove, who was working with Bell in the Florida Instructional League.
