Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes took to social media to send a message to teammate Anthony Gordon after their 2-2 League Cup win over Arsenal on Tuesday (January 7). Guimaraes, 27, missed out on the win over Mikel Arteta’s side through suspension, alongside Fabian Schar as Newcastle reached the League Cup final. Alexander Isak opened the scoring just before half-time, his seventh goal in five games across all competitions, with a close-range effort coming from a free-kick.
Anthony Gordon, 23, then doubled Newcastle’s lead in the 51st-minute, sending Newcastle to the final to face either Tottenham or Liverpool.
