A man who contacted a woman on Gumtree and threatened to kill her with a chainsaw believes his life has been put in danger.
Michael Curling, 48, hounded a total of six victims he met on the online selling site between July 2014 and 2017 from his then home in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire.
Representing himself, he told Sheriff Gerard Bonnar that he sacked his lawyer and did not want legal representation.Curling stated: “There was an incident two nights ago which has caused me psychological distress.”Curling added: “My lawyer said they were not going to forward the email from my niece which she noticed on social media. My life has been put in danger.”Lawyer Sebastian Flowerdew then withdrew from acting stating that he was not in a position to assist the court.
Curling offered her glass and kitchenware before the pair agreed to meet at a Lidl car park in Barrhead, Renfrewshire. Miss Donnelly said:"The next day, Curling messaged asking if she was up for a hot date this weekend."
