The Nottinghamshire Gymnastics Academy has launched a fundraiser
A gymnastics academy in Nottinghamshire is appealing for help after its foam pits were wrecked during the Storm Babet floods. Both foam pits at the Nottinghamshire Gymnastics Academy, located on Boundary Road, West Bridgford, are 'ankle deep in water' as a result of the extreme weather.
Helen also recalled the 'heartbreaking' moment she went into the gym for the first time after the devastating flooding. She said: "I went in this morning for the first time and it actually made me want to cry, it's really quite heartbreaking. The fundraising page, which was set up last night, has already amassed more than £2,780 from 88 supporters. However, this is only five per cent of its final £50,000 target, which will go towards the replacement of foam, as well as futureproofing the facilities to avoid future damage.
