The hit fitness brand is opening its first standalone store in the north here in Manchester
Hit fitness brand Gymshark has announced plans to open its first standalone store in the North, at the Trafford Centre. The brand is known for its huge fitness community, special events and of course it's range of activewear.
Bosses have also promised there will be regional exclusives just for Gymshark Trafford Centre. The store is scheduled to open in Summer 2025.Bosses announcing the news today say the location was chosen as Gymshark has a "great. long-standing relationship with Manchester". The brand hosted one of its first-ever community meet-ups in the city in the early days and greeted thousands of gymgoers to Manchester Central last year at its first post-Covid event – Lift MCR.
Founded in a garage by a gym-obsessed Ben Francis back in 2012, Gymshark has grown from humble beginnings to a global fitness community of over 20 million people across more than 200 countries. Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “Gymshark is an impressive British success story with a global following, so we’re excited to welcome their first Northern, standalone store right here at Trafford Centre. With the activewear and athleisure market continuing to thrive, we’re confident that Gymshark will prove to be extremely popular with our visitors.”
