Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was jailed for planning her mum's murder, has split from her husband just three months after being released from prison.
"I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find... who I am," she added. Gypsy was convicted of second-degree murder when she hid in the bathroom as her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, attacked her mum, Dee Dee, with a knife nicked from Walmart. The horrifying incident happened at their home in Missouri and resulted in 17 knife wounds.
Gypsy is reportedly the only case where someone suffering from Munchausen syndrome by proxy - which usually involves a mum making up or purposely creating signs of illness in a child - has killed their tormentor to escape. It was Gypsy's plan, but Nicholas joined in when he vowed to shield her from everyone, including her own mother.
