The southwest monsoon (habagat) and the localized thunderstorms may continue to affect a large swath of the country, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are expected over Palawan, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi while Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned the public against rain-induced flooding or landslides that may occur in the affected areas. Moderate to strong winds are forecast in the seaboards of Luzon. It will be accompanied by moderate to rough coastal water conditions. Light to moderate winds are expected over Visayas and Mindanao while the coastal waters will be slight to moderate .The weather bureau said the sun will rise at 5:42 a.m. on Tuesday.
