A boy, 14, has died after a man with a sword went on a rampage near Hainault Tube station in northeast London. Two police officers also suffered significant injuries. A 36-year-old has been arrested.
The Met Police has clarified the boy who was killed in the attack is 14, not 13 as they previously reported.A neighbour from nearby Laing Close, who witnessed the attacks, has said he could"not stop envisioning the boy's face".
In his latest statement, shared on X, he said he"can't imagine" what the"poor boy's family are going though", after police said a 13-year-old was killed in the attack. "Photos are also being taken of the scene as police try to piece together what happened during the incident, but also in those moments leading up to it."London mayor Sadiq Khan has described the attack as"devastating and appalling".
