The study shows that 47% of Brits plan to celebrate Halloween this year, with an average spending of £245. A fifth of respondents plan to spend even more this year. The top five ways people plan to observe the holiday in 2023 are revealed. The research was commissioned by immersive attractions in London, Edinburgh, Blackpool, York, and Warwick Dungeons.

A Dungeons spokesperson said: “For our Dungeons across the UK, every day is Halloween – and it looks like a lot of the country has now caught up with our thinking and agree that spooky season truly is the best. Sorry Santa! For those looking to come face to face with scenes like these the London Dungeon’s new show created for Halloween is based around a real-life story of a historical possession and exorcism in the capital, ‘The Exorcism of Peter Moore’.
