Accies bowed out of the top flight on Sunday after a real battle in recent years
Hamilton Accies Women bowed out of the SWPL1 on Sunday as they were defeated 3-0 at home by Montrose.
But the damage was done in midweek as Accies lost 4-2 at Motherwell, while United drew 1-1 with Aberdeen – a decisive point that put them into the relegation play-off. In a statement issued by Hamilton Accies Women, he said: “We are very raw at the result, but I want to thank the players and staff for their efforts all year.
“We have improved, particularly since January, and acknowledge that we were nine points behind at one point and took things to the last day.
