Park director Chad Staples has hand-raised a lion cub and a gorilla baby, and now he's an empty-nester after watching his primate friend graduate back to the troop.

The wildlife director, who has previously hand-raised a young lion cub, became a fill-in parent, bottle-feeding Kaius every two hours and changing his nappies. Kaius was on life support for the first week of his life and Mr Staples says he cannot believe how far the young primate has come.
