China's ambassador has said the UK is 'interfering' in its affairs in Hong Kong
Amid continuing tensions, one protester told Sky News she wasMessage to Chinese govt: good relations between countries are based on mutual respect and honouring the legally binding agreements between them. That is the best way to preserve the great relationship between the UK and ChinaForeign Secretary Jeremy Hunt said earlier this week that his"heart goes out to people who have to fight for their freedoms".
Speaking at the Chinese embassy in central London, Mr Liu told reporters:"The UK government chose to stand on the wrong side. It has made inappropriate remarks not only to interfere in internal affairs of Hong Kong but also to back up the violent law-breakers." The Conservative leadership contender tweeted:"Message to Chinese govt: good relations between countries are based on mutual respect and honouring the legally binding agreements between them. That is the best way to preserve the great relationship between the UK and China."
