Robert Jean, of Harehills, Leeds, is accused of murdering two housemates.
Abdullah Mirzada, left, and Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed died after an incident in Harehills on Saturday morningAbdullah Mirzada, 53, and Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed, 65, were found injured in Back Hill Top Avenue, at 11:00 BST on Saturday.Robert Jean, 46, who lived at the same address in Hill Top Mount, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The court heard the charges were too serious to be dealt with at the magistrates' court, with no formal pleas entered.Mr Jean, who was assisted by a French interpreter, was remanded into custody and is due to appear at the city's crown court on Friday.
