The man was charged in 2022 in a scheme that also implicated the Harrisburg football coach.

to sell 55 used cars with altered odometers was sentenced to 30 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $47,000 in restitution Thursday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.Fry was on parole from prison on burglary offenses in 2018 when the U.S. Attorney’s Office said he began to devise a scheme to buy used cars, alter the cars’ odometers to roll back their mileage readings, then sell them at an inflated price.

Everett was investigated after he advertised some of the cars on Facebook. He did not have a license to sell the cars. He pleaded guilty to a violation for selling cars without a license, and paid a $1,059.25 fine in 2022. Everett maintained he did not know odometers were getting rolled back and he didn’t know a license was required to sell more than seven cars per year.

Altered odometers cause customers to pay for more than what cars are worth, and increases the risk of larger costs for for maintenance, insurance and other expenses, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
