Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s biographer Omid Scobie has told the High Court that he overheard Piers Morgan, when he was editor of the Daily Mirror, discussing a story being based on a celebrity’s voicemails
In a witness statement, Mr Scobie said he was doing work experience on theHe alleged that during his time in theoffice, Mr Morgan “came over to talk with someone about a story in the works on Kylie Minogue and her boyfriend James Gooding”.
An article about Minogue and Mr Gooding was published by the newspaper in May 2002, which refers to Mr Gooding contacting Minogue after their split, court filings say. An invoice from a private investigator firm dated four days before publication referred to inquiries carried out relating to “K Minogue”.
The claimants in the case allege that Mirror Group engaged in tactics including phone hacking, securing information through deception, and hiring private investigators for unlawful activities.
