Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel after receiving a glowing recommendation from former Spurs star Harry Kane.
Jamie Redknapp has revealed that Tottenham legend Harry Kane sent him a text message about his Bayern Munich teammate Mathys Tel . Ex-Tottenham striker Kane is the reason why Tel is keen to leave, as the England captain starts up front for Bayern every week when fit. Speaking on Sky Sports Transfer Window, Redknapp said: 'I messaged Harry Kane earlier on to ask him what's he like.' 'He wants to work, good trainer, good finisher, a lot of potential.
Now we have to think about whether we will do it and what we will do.' Tel appeared to be saying goodbye to Bayern Munich fans after a 3-1 Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday evening. The fact Spurs are willing to sign the 19-year-old on a permanent deal is appealing to Bayern, but the final decision is likely to rest with Tel. Tottenham are desperate to sign a new forward before the transfer window closes after missing out to Juventus on PSG's Randal Kolo Muani. He scored ten goals and assisted six times last season but has struggled to replicate that form with the Frenchman yet to score this campaign. Tel has only played 458 minutes this campaign and is yet to play more than 65 minutes in a game
