Former Man Utd captain Harry Maguire was the subject of a big-money bid from Premier League counterparts West Ham United.
Defender Harry Maguire has admitted that he and Manchester United failed to reach an agreement for him to seal an exit from the club during the summer transfer window.
West Ham were ready to give the defender the new lease of life he is in need of, but he is believed to have rejected the Reds' offer of a £6m pay-off. It was understood that he wanted an offer nearing £10m.Despite having made just one substitute appearance for United so far this term, the England international is still confident that he will have a part to play this season, pointing to the hectic fixture schedule on the horizon.
On his failed exit from Old Trafford last month, he continued: "How can I put this? We just didn't come to an agreement. Maguire added: "Gareth has been brilliant with me ever since I made my debut. He keeps saying, 'Keep playing well, keep doing a job for England and keep helping us progress’. You see this team is progressing.
