Harry recalls 1997 Spice Girls meet-and-greet – from Geri 'connection' to 'fixation' on Emma
Prince Harry has recalled his famous meet-and-greet with the Spice Girls in 1997, just months after losing his mother, the late Princess Diana.
Describing the event Harry, who was 13 at the time, says that after stepping onto the red carpet he suddenly wished he was in his bed at St James' Palace. "Also, she was world-famous for recently wearing a minidress made of the Union Jack." Harry then recalls wondering "Why's there a Union Jack on the coffin" at his mother's funeral.
Attending the concert, the Prince writes that he saw his father, the now King, "gamely nodding to the beat and tapping his foot" as the girl group played their popular hit Wannabe.
