Prince Harry's Taliban claim is 'slur' that puts British soldiers at risk, says former commander 🔴 Colonel Richard Kemp said the revelations in the Duke of Sussex’s new autobiography would be seen as a ‘betrayal’ of his comrades
Prince Harry in Afghanistan in 2013. Col Kemp believes the Duke of Sussex’s comments may increase the security risk to him and to members of the British Army : “He suggests that the British Army trained him and other soldiers to see the enemy in that way. And he said it’s not possible to kill someone that you see as human beings, which is, of course, complete nonsense.
“Obviously, they have to be killed when necessary if they pose a threat. But they also are seen as human beings, and soldiers are explicitly trained to do that, to show respect for their enemy.” He added that the Duke’s revelation that he killed 25 Taliban fighters while serving as a helicopter pilot during his second tour in Afghanistan, as first reported by, could fuel hatred of the British Army among extremists at home and abroad whose views align with those of the Taliban.
