Jordan Henderson was booed by England supporters on Friday night at Wembley during friendly against Australia
Harvey Elliott believes Jordan Henderson deserves better from England supporters after watching his former Liverpool team-mate booed off the pitch at Wembley Stadium.
Henderson's summer transfer generated controversy given the vocal support he has issued for LGBTQ+ groups in the past, only to accept a well-paid offer to play in Saudi Arabia where homosexuality is a criminal offence. Following on, 20-year-old Elliott has offered his thoughts. While not yet a member of the senior national team, still waiting for his first call-up from Gareth Southgate though certainly on the correct path with the Under-21s, he was able to comment his disappointment from afar.
"It’s his decision, it’s his career. As a nation we need to get behind these players and support them. It wasn’t nice, but knowing Hendo I’m sure it hasn’t fazed him.
