Phil Hawes apologies for confronting Daniel Cormier as he tried to conduct post-fight interview
Things got awkward at UFC Austin on Saturday when Phil Hawes scored a second-round TKO win over Deron Winn before taking shots at former dual-weight champion Daniel CormierThe UFC Hall of Famer, who is a teammate and mentor to Winn, was on commentary duty and had barely made it into the cage to conduct his post-fight interview with Hawes before the veteran middleweight started shouting at him.
Cormier quickly fired back and called on Hawes to show some respect as referee Herb Dean stepped in between the two men to stop a physical altercation from breaking out. Hawes immediately apologised to the UFC legend, who still seemed annoyed by the interaction as he was escorted away before the two did their interview without any further incident.
