Jack Jermy-Doyle was killed by a single punch on a night out
Two men have been found guilty of killing a stranger with one punch on a tragic night out in Preston.
They reached the Greyfriar, at the bottom of Friargate, and were caught on CCTV picking on a man in a bucket hat. It appeared to start as banter, but quickly descended into aggression, and punches were thrown. Words were exchanged, then without provocation Parkinson lashed out and punched Jack to his body. Fairclough followed up with a knockout blow to Jack’s head, which caused him to fall and bang his head on the hard pavement.
His girlfriend, Kaitlyn Booth, was getting ready for her sister’s wedding when she received a flurry of messages that Jack had been seriously injured. She said: 'The signal was terrible but I finally managed to get a hold of his sister, Leanne, who told me that doctors were saying Jack had irreversible brain damage.
