He's listed the 'best' foods for the job
A Health expert has shared the best ways for food to battle cholesterol. Dr Sunni Patel, from Dish Dash Deets, has given his top tips to help you with foods high in cholesterol.
As the Liverpool Echo reports, cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that's found in all the cells in your body. The body uses cholesterol to make hormomes, vitamin D and substances that help you digest foods. If the body has too much cholesterol that can cause a major risk with cardiovascular problems. This can cause huge health issues such as heart attacks and strokes. In recent months it was revealed that those aged 40 and over in England will be sent a blood test to carry out at home in an attempt to reduce heart disease and obesity.
However, healthy dietary choices can help keep the waxy culprit in check. Dr Sunni Patel, from Dish Dash Deets, shared with Express.co.uk the list of “best” foods for this job.Packed with soluble fibre, oats are scientifically proven to lower levels of “bad” cholesterol. Dr Sunni said: “Whole grains like barley, quinoa, brown rice, and whole wheat bread also provide fibre and nutrients that support heart health”.
