A health tourist left behind a £623,000 unpaid NHS bill
— despite a Government crackdown on foreign visitors abusing it.
“I can’t believe there is not a better way of running the system so these bills are not left unpaid.”Visiting EU nationals are covered by the European Health Insurance Card. The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust said it was left with an unpaid £39,508 bill for treatment which should have been settled by the Libyan Embassy.
