It was the second time that Ann Brady was able to leave hospital since June 2022
Healthcare staff have been praised for helping a couple celebrate their 20th anniversary together with a special cinema date in Belfast City Centre.
She had been diagnosed in 2000 with a rare condition called Spinal AVM, which is a tangle of blood vessels close to or on the spinal cord that can cause serious damage if not treated. As Ann is still in hospital, her husband Shaun was worried that they might miss out on doing something special to mark their 20th wedding anniversary, however thanks to the NI STAR team at the Belfast Trust they were able to spend a wonderful afternoon together at The Avenue cinema.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Shaun said: "Ann and I are very thankful for the NI STAR team for helping us enjoy a wonderful date together as we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. "Dr Leanne Davison and Victoria Stewart have been fantastic in the support they have offered us and we are just so thankful for everything they have done for us."
