The proposal would see the Food Bank take over a 64,000-square-foot warehouse on West 130th Street just south of the Islamic Center of Cleveland and transform it into a food pantry and offices for several nonprofits meant to connect folks with things like education, job training, medical care, diapers and clothes and shoes for children.
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank will be opening their Community Resource Center on S. Waterloo Rd. on November 2nd. The new center will feature a Healthy Choice Food Market, computer labs, a MetroHealth center, a diaper resource and Shoes & Clothes for Kids. David Petkiewicz, cleveland.
Potential organizations who could have offices in the building include Cuyahoga Community College, Towards Employment, MetroHealth, the Diaper Bank of Greater Cleveland and United Way.that the Food Bank opened last fall on South Waterloo Road on Cleveland’s northeast side. The Food Bank said in its application for a conditional use permit that the food pantry would be open to people who have previously been screened for eligibility.
