Grace McSweeney was on her way to an exam celebration party on Friday when she was killed alongside Nicole Murphy, Zoey Coffey, and her brother Luke McSweeney.
The boyfriend of a young girl who died in a horror car crash that claimed four lives has spoken out after losing the “love of his life”. Luke McSweeney, 24, his sister Grace McSweeney, Nicole Murphy and Zoey Coffey - all aged 18 - were killed after the car they were travelling in hit a wall on Friday evening.
Aaron, who was on a night out, said he ran over to the scene from one side of the town as quickly as he could, but couldn't get to the area because it had been blocked off. The couple had been looking forward to a trip to Amsterdam, which they planned together because Grace - who had a love of history - wanted to do the Anne Frank tour.
Grace and Zoey both attended Presentation Secondary School, and received their exam results on Friday. School principal Michael O'Loughlin said: "No words can express our sorrow, our pain and our grief. Zoey and Grace were two beautiful students, loved by everybody who met them and [they] achieved such excellent results on Friday.
"Family Liaison Officers have been appointed to each of the families to provide support and the families will be kept updated as to the course of the investigation. I want to acknowledge and express my gratitude to my colleagues in An Garda Siochana and the other emergency services who attended the scene last night.
