Geraldine Mullan's son Tomás as well as husband John and daughter Amelia passed away when their car plunged into Lough Foyle Donegal on the evening of August 20th 2020
The Mullan family's world was shattered when their car plunged into Lough Foyle near Quigley’s Point in County Donegal, leaving Geraldine as the sole survivor.
She reminisced about the celebrations orchestrated by her beloved husband John, where birthdays were not merely a day but an entire month of festivities, complete with cake, balloons, and party banners. She continued: "Anyone that knew us knew we loved birthdays in the Mullan household, there'd be cake, balloons, party banners - John sweetheart, you'd made sure our birthdays were celebrated in style...it wasn't just a birth-day, it was a birthday month!!!"
She pledged to hold her son close to her heart, forever guided by the memories they shared and the eternal bond of a mother's love : "As the night draws to a close, I'll close my eyes at 1048pm, put my hand on my heart and hold you all close, remembering what you told me Amelia about the 4 corners in my heart, as that's where you'll always be.
