Rocco Friel is on the agenda for various clubs down south and Hearts could lose him for a compensation fee.
The English Championship side want to sign the Scotland under-19 international. The 17-year-old is out of contract at Tynecastle this summer but Hearts would be entitled to training and development compensation if he decides to move on.
The R’s will need to see if they can strike for the right-sided defender or midfielder. Hearts are keen to extend Friel’s stay. He has been a regular in Liam Fox’s B team this season, who finished second in the Lowland League, and Friel has previously had training stints south of the border with Derby County and Leicester City.
Leicester have since won promotion back to the Premiership and Derby have also gone up to the Championship. Both sides are continuing to keep tabs on Friel. He moved to the capital after leaving Rangers in 2021.
