Brian McLauchlinHearts will need "a very strong mentality" to get the better of Bundesliga side Heidenheim and maintain their 100% record in the Conference League, says head coach Neil Critchley.
Frank Schmidt's side are playing in European competition for the first time ever, having finished eighth last season in their maiden Bundesliga campaign. “They have a maturity in how they play the game. We have to make sure that, yes, we want to play with emotion, we want to play with intensity, we want to get the supporters behind us, but also we have to manage periods of the game."Critchley took over after Steven Naismith's dismissal last month and steered the side to the 2-0 win over Omonia at Tynecastle.
"We know we're in for a big test, but if we can play a game that we want to play, then we know it'll be a really good game."Hearts and Heidenheim both won their opening two Conference League games, with the Edinburgh side sitting sixth and the Germans in ninth having scored one less goal.Heidenheim are 12th in the Bundesliga and have only won once in six outings.
