THIS is the heart-stopping moment a cyclist was wiped out by a turning car - which hit him with such force that his £2,500 bike split in two.

An eyewitness said: "He's so lucky to be alive. It was an expensive bike, that we had to chuck in the bin - but thank God it was only the bike that split in half."I was in the area when I saw the whole thing happen. The car turned into the side road and drove straight into the cyclist."To be honest, he was more shocked than anything. He said he didn't have any pain and that he didn't need an ambulance.
