If you're going on holiday today, prepare for some serious Heathrow disruption
Passengers have still been warned to expect disruption despite the strikes being called off
Members of the Unite union were due to stage a 48 hour walkout from one minute past midnight over an ongoing pay dispute. Heathrow has already cancelled around 177 flights in preparation, but disruption still would have been worse if today’s strike had actually gone ahead.Travellers are being urged to check with their airline for the latest news on flights.In a statement last night, British Airways said it would be reinstating flights from Heathrow today, while Aer Lingus also said it planned to operate all flights to and from the airport.
