Torrential downpours at this year's festival have left large areas of the park 'deeply rutted and uneven'
Widespread repairs are to take place in Heaton Park after torrential downpours at this year's Parklife damaged part of the grounds. Crowds were left drenched when storms battered north Manchester on the second night of the festival earlier this month.
Festival-goers said the park was turned into a 'mud bath' after heavy rain swamped the ground. Pictures and videos taken at the festival showed sodden crowds wearing ponchos and sheltering under trees, with many leaving early due to the conditions. The mudbath and the subsequent clean-up has left parts of the park 'deeply rutted and uneven' with visitors being urged to take care in the affected areas.

Please be cautious of deep ruts and uneven ground.
"We are committed to reinstating the grounds as soon as possible. Your patience and understanding during this restoration period are greatly appreciated.
