Emma Crowder has 61 previous convictions for 107 offences
A heavily-convicted Nottinghamshire mother has been addicted to alcohol since she was aged just 12. Nottingham Crown Court heard how Emma Crowder has been abusing drink since her mother walked out of the family home almost 30 years ago, her barrister said.
Laura Pitman, mitigating, said: “This is a woman who for many, many, years has been addicted to alcohol - pretty much since the age of 12 - which coincided with her mother leaving the family home and leaving her with her father. I know it is hard to imagine a 12-year-old drinking alcohol but she then stopped going to school and over the years she has been involved in this cycle of offending.
“She is sorry for what she did and she is ashamed. She is a mother who has not been in contact with her children for some time now and she wants to try her best to regain contact with them.” The prosecutor said: “A kitchen window to the rear has been smashed and there was a brick on the floor. He said despite knowing the defendant, he had not allowed her to stay at the address.
