Parts of Yorkshire are set to see between eight and 16 millimetres of rain an hour
Yorkshire is set to see even more heavy rain this week as the Met Office predicts more wet weather in the long term.
Tuesday will see heavy showers throughout the day, with the heaviest rain of between 16 and 32 millimetres falling in South Yorkshire. However, this will only be over a small area. Heavy showers will hit much of the region, including Leeds, York, Bradford, Huddersfield and Sheffield.
Much of Yorkshire will see between eight and 16mm an hour. However, there will be some areas which could see between 16 and 32mm an hour.The Met Office said: "Largely unsettled and cloudy with showers and longer spells of rain on Wednesday, but drier in the far north. Further rain from the west on Thursday and Friday. Average temperatures.
"Probably widely windy, with a risk of spells of gales, or even severe gales at first in the exposed west and south. Over the following week, there may be trend towards slightly longer spells of more settled weather from the south-east, pushing the focus of most frequent rain towards the northwest. Above average temperatures most likely, albeit often tempered by cloud, rain and occasional strong winds.
