Storm Babet is predicted to arrive later this week, bringing heavy rain and wind. The Met Office has issued multiple weather warnings across Scotland, including parts of Lanarkshire.
A new weather warning for wind and rain is in place for the Strathclyde region with the arrival of the latest severe weather, named Storm Babet, later this week.
Strong winds are also predicted to bring disruption much of Scotland and across the UK with the arrival of Storm Babet. The Met Office warns that "Storm Babet will bring a period of very strong southeasterly winds to much of central and northern Scotland." "The heaviest rainfall is likely to be across high ground in this region, although even some low lying more populated areas are likely to see some heavy rainfall also. Widely 20-40 mm of rain is likely to fall, but some upland areas of northern England and southern Scotland could see as much as 70-100 mm of rain. The rain may also be accompanied by some very strong southeasterly winds at times, which could exacerbate impacts.
