The Scottish Government established a £500 million Scotland wide Whole Family Wellbeing Fund (WFWF) last year, to support families in poverty, following the outcome of an Independent Care Review.

More than £225,000 has been allocated to maintain a council project dedicated to helping families living “in a crisis” situation.It comes after the Scottish Government established a £500 million Scotland wide Whole Family Wellbeing Fund last year, to support families in poverty, following the outcome of an Independent Care Review.Glasgow is in line to receive around £19 million over a four year period.

Now a total of £225,286.85 from the WFWF will keep the council’s Healthier Wealthier Children project running and prevent the service from coming to an end. Councillor Bell said: “This is about getting money to families that are often in a crisis situation particularly around new mothers and single new mothers where evidence shows that that is often a crisis point in the young person’s life.
