Similar to their first aircraft, HCSO was able to obtain the aircraft at no cost to the people of Henry County.
HENRY COUNTY, Ala. - The Henry County Sheriff’s Office recently obtained a second helicopter for their volunteer aviation unit.
“A majority of our area being heavily wooded area and then the whole east side of our county being water, having the aircraft gives us the ability to aid in search and rescue efforts,” said Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship. Sheriff Blankenship said having a second aircraft will provide the possibility for more eyes in the sky, and help with the longevity of the program.
“It keeps so many hours from being put on one aircraft to keep parts from timing out,” said Sheriff Blankenship.
